On 25 November, the DiVINE consortium hosted its first Co-Creation Workshop, bringing together project partners and members of the Advisory Board to support the development of a comprehensive stakeholder mapping for Task 1.1. This workshop marks an important early milestone in shaping the future stakeholder consultation process that will underpin the implementation of the IWT Digitalisation Vision.
Following an introduction and an overview of the project’s objectives, the consortium presented the methodology for identifying and segmenting the actors who will later take part in the wider consultation phase. Participants discussed the digital maturity of different segments within the inland waterway transport sector—an essential element in ensuring that engagement strategies reflect the diversity of operational, organisational, and technological realities across Europe.
The workshop also reviewed the initial stakeholder list compiled by the consortium and examined whether the proposed segmentation model adequately captures the breadth of the sector. Feedback from participants focused on refining stakeholder categories, identifying potential gaps, and ensuring a balanced representation across geographies and market segments.

This collaborative exercise provided valuable input that will feed into the upcoming Inception Report. In the coming weeks, the consortium will integrate the workshop’s insights, further validate the stakeholder database, and prepare for the next stages of DiVINE—where stakeholder engagement will play a central role in operationalising the IWT Digitalisation Vision toward 2035.
