FAQ on the electrical vessel propulsion – Chapter 11 ES-TRIN
In Chapter 11 ES-TRIN (European Standard laying down Technical Requirements for Inland Navigation vessels), you can find the new rules for electric propulsion of inland vessels. These rules are applicable as of January 1, 2020.
These complex regulations require however some proper explanation to give. Inland shipping industry has repeatedly stressed the importance of a good communication regarding Chapter 11 ES-TRIN and the new rules. As a result of those efforts, you can now examine a Frequently Asked Questions document.
