Brussels, Belgium, May 13, 2024 – The ReNEW project, a multidisciplinary initiative comprising 24 participants from 11 EU countries, convened for its mid-term review meeting at the Belgian Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport (FPS) premises. This project aims to transitioning inland waterway transport (IWT) to a smart, green, sustainable, and climate-resilient sector.

 

The meeting began with an introduction from the coordinator, followed by presentations the progress made on work packages.

 

Case studies from various living labs were also presented, focusing on city logistics, infrastructure resilience, digital twin applications, and autonomous zero-emissions barges.

 

The session concluded with discussions on outreach, upscaling efforts, and project management, setting the stage for the continued advancement of the ReNEW project in the IWT sector.
