We are pleased to announce that the European IWT Platform team is growing. Janeta Toma and Yuliya Sahitava joined the foundation in September 2022. Discover here below their expert areas and assignments within the organisation.

Janeta Toma is a professional with over 15+ years of practical experience in waterborne (maritime and river) public transport policy formulation, project design, assessment, implementation, and coordination at national, regional and EU levels acquired while working as a waterborne transport expert, policy and project officer with various institutions, organisations, and entities at national (Romanian Ministry of Transport, Constanta Port Administration), regional (Danube Strategy Point, Pro Danube International) and EU (EC- General Directorate for Mobility and Transport, Innovation and Networks Executive Agency) level.

She is an Economist specialising in International Economic Affairs and holds a master’s degree — Master of Science (MSc) in Maritime Affairs, Specialising in Maritime Administration from the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmo, Sweden.

In mid-September 2022 she joined the IWT Platform team as a Senior Policy Officer, where she contributes to the IWT projects and policy initiatives implementation.

Yuliya Sahitava is a multicultural communicator with more than 15 years of experience. She has extended experience in the development and implementation of overarching communication strategies for local and European projects. Keen on innovation and digital empowerment, she masters digital communication techniques and has a solid background in event management.

With more than 6 years of experience in Project Management, she managed several cross-functional and change management projects on local and European levels.

She has a background in International Economic Relations and a master’s degree in European Studies (VUB, Brussels).

Yuliya joins the European IWT Team as Communications and Project Manager.
