Jörg Rusche has been appointed as the new Deputy Secretary General of the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR), with effect from May 1, 2022, for a four-year tenure. He will also serve as the Executive Secretary of the Convention on the collection, deposit, and receipt of garbage during passage on the Rhine and inland waterways (CDNI). Mrs Katrin Moosbrugger‘s tenure of office ended in January 2021, and Mr Jörg Rusche takes over.
Following his legal studies, Mr Rusche worked for the Bundesverband der Deutschen Binnenschifffahrt e. V. (BDB) in Duisburg, most notably as its director. From April 2016 to April 2022, Mr Rusche worked as an administrator for the CCNR.

He was involved in the entire overhaul of the Rhine Navigation Personnel Regulations (RPN). He was also active in the establishment and development of professional skills within the CESNI (European committee for the development of standards in the field of inland navigation). As part of his new responsibilities, Mr Rusche is looking forward to continuing to be active with inland navigation on the Rhine and throughout Europe.

The Member State delegations and Secretariat members would like to congratulate Mr Rusche on his appointment and wish him well as he begins his duties.
