Together with its partners, the PLATINA3 team is pleased to invite you to the 2nd Stage Event – the Strasbourg sessions on the 19th of October.
This (online) event will be hosted by the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR). The full programme is now online.
The Strasbourg Sessions will concentrate on three main issues:
- Funding and financing of energy transition of the European IWT fleet;
- Accurate European fleet data to support future EU policies; and
- Economic barriers to modal shift.
You will be able to listen to several keynote speakers, amongst which Mr. Hugues van Honacker – European Commission DG MOVE and Ms. Caroline Nagtegaal, Member of the European Parliament as well as Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) specialists from the European Investment Bank, inland navigation industry and business community.

This one-day interactive event will also provide a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and learn more about the latest developments and upcoming challenges of IWT in Europe, following the publication this summer of the NAIADES III Action Plan as well as the CCNR study on the energy transition towards a zero-emission inland navigation sector. It will enable valuable and forward-looking exchanges between experts from the business sector, associations, institutions, international organisations and other key stakeholders from the IWT community.
